Frasier
Wasn't too familiar with it, but after watching them all over last few months blown away but how good it is, best American sit-com imo, but then it's very British. Give it a go if you've never bothered before.

The actress who played darlene in Roseanne has a reoccurring role in Big Bang theory

Re: Frasier
Roseanne was very good for the time.

It went all stupid towards the end when the last season showed her as an Author who was writing her memoirs and that Dan had died of a heart attack years before...

You are right about 'Becky', the scene with DJ losing his shit about the change saying 'They say shes the same, but she's not the same' over and over had me in stitches..

Yeah I liked her but I liked Darlene much better

The show lost a lot when they changed the actress playing Becky. Would've been better to kill off the character.

Used to love it. Mate of mine had Sky and we used to pile around his house on a Friday night to watch the new episodes when they were on.

Some things hold up and others don't.
Often its better to leave them in the past and remember them fondly.

Can remember watching some old Monty Python episodes a while back and having to turn them off.

Yes. Didn't look so clever 25 years on.

Best Frasier episodes were
Ham Radio and The Seal that came to dinner.

Brilliantly funny.

Re: Frasier
Can't say I ended with a great impression of it. I remember thinking it was one of the funnier things on my TV (did only have peasant vision though) early on and then thinking how strange it was I thought that a few years later. But I dont think I really ever liked a huge amount of sitcoms though.

Shows I have a lasting impression of being funny (not necessarily pure comedies)

Tiny Toons (in high school)
MASH (on every night when I was young)
Mid-series Simpsons
West Wing
Sports Night (what Sorkin did before West Wing)
Some of Kids in the Hall (over did the gay thing, though it was pretty ground-breaking at the time)
The Newsroom (not the new American one)
Rick Mercer Show
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Arrested Development

Two British show I remember coming on late at night

Allo, Allo
Drop the Dead Donkey.

Picked up a lot of British shows since but those ones I remember seeing on actual TV.

I'm the same Kidders, loved so many American shows.

ER was great back in the day, The Sopranos, The Wire, Mash, Sons of Anarchy.

I was a bit of a US comedy junkie growing up, Soap, Cheers, Roseanne, Friends, Frasier. C4 did import a good comedy.

I loved Bulldog. And Frasier's agent was funny, too.

Had a serious crush on Marty Crane. Older generation are more masculine.
